My family was in what would become Ontario as far back as 1770 and all the years they were in Ontario, they NEVER lived in any of the black settlements where most blacks lived. At first, this drove me crazy because when I first started tracking them down, those common black settlements provided me with no information about my family.

I'm saying this to say that Ontario is a HUGE territory and there may be better ways to track down your family.

I suggest you order the marriage records of Weston and Joshua and HOPE that their records provide better information. If theirs are as vague as William's, then we'll move to Plan B.
