I was under the impression that the Collingwood community was made up of people escaping from U.S. slavery in the 19th century. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

It's wonderful that there are still some people around who are aware of their African Loyalist roots. What those ancestors did in that war was crucial to giving momentum to the anti-slavery movement, and helped set a more positive course for Canadian society.
