The University of Toronto has an excellent online genealogical certification program with specialties in several areas: Canada, England, Ireland, the U.S., Germany and Scotland.

You can enroll for individual courses or go for the certification track, which takes about a year and a half to complete. I'm doing the Canadian track and though I thought I knew a lot about Canadian genealogy, I'm amazed that I've learned so much from these courses, especially with regard to Canadian military records.

Though they don't handle the topic of BLACKS IN CANADA very well (I doubt any of their instructors are of color, nor do they have an interest in this subject), I still highly recommend this program. They also have easy payment arrangements as well.
