I appreciate your quick response. That is indeed my Benjamin Towns. Disappointing that there are no others living with him. At least now I think that young Benjamin was not married in 1861 and that he married in the USA.

I was hoping that Cordelia could be found somewhere. I have a listing in the 1859-1860 Toronto city Directory for Cordelia Towns, laundress living on Elizabeth Street and Benjamin Towns, broom maker living on Eliza Street. I wonder if they listed married women too or just single/widowed ones. I'll keep looking as I have lots more questions now.
