This is great news. I must say, though, that I do NOT like the redesign of the LAC website. Archivia.net is harder and harder to find, so I appreciate your like directly into it.

My only question about this database is wondering just how many black folks might have actually applied for naturalization. I figure that if you were an escaped slave, the LAST thin you'd want to do would be to register your status with the local government.

I'm glad you found your ancestor ... I'll have to go through the database to see if I can find some of my own, particuarly my Irish ones.
