Hello there Art!

I've been looking through this book I have here titled "Harrow and Colchester South 1792-1992" for references to Matthew Elliot. The only reference is to a Matthew Elliott (with 2 ts), who was elected in 1800 to represent Essex South in the Legislature. This is in the section of the book on the War if 1812.

I live in Colchester South about 5 kilometers from the village of Colchester and about 8 kilometers from the town of Harrow. The Harrow Early Immigrant Research Society (HEIRS) is located in Harrow. They have genealogical files, local history files and microfilm of the Harrow News, Amhertburg Echo, Essex County Census and municipal records.

I'm planning to visit to ask them to show me how to research census data and such so when I go, I'd be happy to look up something for you.
