Re: Where to look?

Leah; Unfortunately, there's not much available ONLINE for Ontario for the period 1840-1880. I did find Joseph and Mary's cemetery listing, by using the Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid. You may have had this information already, but they are both buried in St. Mary's Anglican Church in Metcalf (reference MX-096) and you can write the London-Middlesex branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society for the full cemetery transcription information: London-Middlesex Branch, OGS Grosvenor Lodge, 1017 Western Road London, Ontario, Canada N6G 1G5 Checking their website, I also found a link to "Granny's Genealogy Garden," which includes many extractions of the 1851 Census. I checked the Metcalf census but couldn't find your family. You may want to look at the other townships on this site, one by one, to see if you can find your folk: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~granny2/index.html I also checked the MARRIAGES of MIDDLESEX COUNTY (on that same website), but no luck. I wish I could provide more help, my dear. I would also take a look at the LDS catalog to see what microfilms they may have. There is no Middlesex Archives as such, but many land records are held at the Ontario Archives in Toronto ... WELL worth the trip if you can swing it. So, my dear, lemme know if I can offer any other assistance. All the best to you in your research. - Lisa
