Re: Where to look?
In Response To: Re: Where to look? ()

Hello Lisa,

I have not heard of this book but I am very interested. I've been searching for my Great Great Grandfather, Joseph H. Wrinkle, who made his way to Canada & freedom in the late 1840's. The first sign I've found of him is in the 1861 Metcalfe Township, Middlesex County census listed as Joseph 'Winkle' with his wife Mary & baby son. I have located him in later census records but do not know where he was prior to 1861. If you have some time, please look to see if there any Wrinkle / Winkle (s) listed. It would be very much appreciated.

Thank You,
Leah (Wrinkle) Nicks

: Denise;

: I took a look through the book, "Blacks in Canada, 1861,"
: and could find neither a listing for Annie Tate or Annie Payne.
: I was really hoping to find her, but without better info,
: there's not much I can do. Sorry, my dear.

: All the best to you,
