I'll keep my fingers crossed too -- especially about the index. By the way, I recently found out that a private company, Automated Genealogy, has a free online every person index for the 1901 Canadian Census and the 1906 Western Province Census. You can access it at: http://automatedgenealogy.com/index.html. There are some problems but its loads better than trying to go page by page. The index doesn't list all of the info in the Census so you do have to go back to the originals to get anything beyond name, age and birthdate.
