Canada didn't exist until 1867. In 1793 Lieutenant Governor John Graves Simcoe introduced abolition laws. S;avery was ended by 1810. 57 years vefore Canada even existed. "Canada", the structure of laws, rights and freedoms never had slavery, period.
The height of slavery lasted about 20 years.

Not meaning to tell a half truth and certainly not a lie...should I have said "What is now known as Canada"?
