Canada didn't exist until 1867. In 1793 Lieutenant Governor John Graves Simcoe introduced abolition laws. S;avery was ended by 1810. 57 years vefore Canada even existed. "Canada", the structure of laws, rights and freedoms never had slavery, period.
The height of slavery lasted about 20 years.

Let us point to the aristocracy, mostly French, that had slaves in pre-Canada colonies.
Some British elites also had them. in PRE-CANADA North American, Natives were the first
to use slaves, plucking them from neighbouring tribes.

Black slaves were sold by Black africans. Jews were prominent in the shipping industry.
