Greetings to Canadian and American Researchers.
One of my favorite foreign newspapers is "The Scotsman". Many Afrigeneas researchers, look to foreign newspapers and their archives for information and history about their ancestors and their enslavers in Canada, the US and abroad.
The press release linked below announces the launch of the Scotsman's archives from 1817 to 1950. Access is free during a limited window of time.
"To celebrate Tartan Week 2005, The Scotsman announces the launch of The Scotsman Digital Archive from 1817 to 1950. To mark the occasion and in recognition of the links between Scotland and North America we will be offering free access to the archive for 24 hours to people living in the United States and Canada."
The offer is open to all residents who register at archive.scotsman.com on April 6, starting from midnight EDT. "
Also available for free are news articles that pertain to American and Canadian history. I read the will of Andrew Carnegie who gave $300,000 to Hampton Institute....that's $100,000 more than he gave to the University of Pittsburgh!
Time is flying by, so click on the press release and log on to the Scotsman's web archive page at:

Enjoy!
