The Ontario GenWeb has an online project called, "Official Census Project," consisting of transcriptions of hundreds of Ontario census pages ranging from as early as 1822 and as recent as 1901. This database is searchable, but spotty in terms of which areas have been transcribed.

But it's FREE!! And it may help you find that one missing link in your research. You can even do a wildcard search, now is that cool, or what?
