Re: Blacks in Brampton
In Response To: Blacks in Brampton ()
Erica; I think you have confused Peel Twp with Peel County. Peel Twp, home of much of the Queen's Bush area, is actually located in Wellington County (formerly Waterloo County, but boundaries changed, so any research of the Queen's Bush area should include Waterloo, Wellington and Grey counties). Brampton is located in Peel County, just West of Toronto. The internet is littered with dozens of excellent sources on the black presence/history in Ontario, as well as written texts such as Robin Winks' "The Blacks in Canada." What sources have you already checked? Perhaps I can show you some others that might shed some light on your quest. All the best my dear. - Lisa B. Lee
