The Canadian Dollar is quite strong these days, so it may make sense to stay in Windsor, and tell Anita that Casino Windsor is nearby. There are other casinos across the river in Detroit as well. Whatever you do, though, avoid the Pontchartrain Hotel (in Detroit) like the plague. There are several other very good hotels right on the waterfront on either side of the border.
