Re: Leona Paris - Quebec

Ginger; I did a Canada411.com search and found 42 "L. Paris" listings in Quebec, but no "Leona Paris" listings. I also found one "L. Barlow" listed but no "Leona Barlow" listing. In my own experience, I've had GREAT success cold calling folks I found in a Canada411 list and have found MANY of my cousins that way. I know it's a long shot, but I think it's worth a try. Vital records in the 20th century in Canada are covered by privacy laws and are very difficult to obtain, with Quebec being among the worst. And of course, there's always the language difference in Quebec, that you'll need to overcome. There's an excellent article on the Global Gazette (link below) that explains the problems of obtaining 20th century vital records in Quebec. It's not impossible, but unless you know the date, it may be difficult to find a marriage, death, or divorce record. Sorry I cannot offer more advice my dear. Good luck in your search. - Lisa B. Lee
