Re: Thanks Lisa .......Slavery in Canada

That is amazing!
(They were able to return
to Ohio & keep track of that
important Family history)

I had not tested & wasn't on the forum when the information was originally posted. Since that time, I've gained reason to expand
my research into the Ohio,Tenn, Kentucky, Canada, it's left a DNA match trail.

We have some shared surnames .
in my dna matches,I have several Alexander Mckee (s), Straightails, Red Bird Brock, Oconostota, Cornstalks and Opessa, Alumpee and Pekowi in my DNA matches _ there's a good chance they once owned some of my Ancestors.

I'm still trying to narrow down those names of my enslaved ancestors in that area at that time in history.

My Mckees have ties to Ireland & Pennsylvania
& most of them are Caucasian.
I also have a Chartier (Martin 1655).

(I have Thomas surname up there,
that married a Brock) (I also have Miles, Walden, Moss, Reneau/Reno, Herring)

(here's an older post response to some of my findings .)

(Up until 3 or more years
ago_ I did not know that I had Ohio component to my Ancestry) so?
I am still catching up on my Ohio history :) &
I have not found the name Laforce, yet but I
have found many with Canadian ancestry
from that route.

Again, Thanks for the information. t.b.
