Re: Need help from experienced researchers

Hello there, first the same as to all the others: Thanks for your time, I do get blurry after looking at this so any extra set of eyes are defenitely appreciated.

So for familysearch.org I agree, it is a great website, I look at the TN marriages and death certificates all the time. My local library has the TN death certs from 1908 to 1942 (excluding 1913), so it's easy for me to obtain copies of the originals after looking up records of interest on familysearch.org.

As far as marriage records, I have two marriages for Alcie: She was named Alcie Hillsman in 1876 when she married William Jones, and Alcie Taylor in 1893 when she married Tom Adkisson. A while back I did also look at the TN marriage records just after the civil war. My impression was that the microfilm was in bad shape, it was hard to read. If familysearch.org was using that same microfilm I ordered from LDS I think there is a chance that the marriage records are indexed incorrect on familysearch.org.

I agree about the source of the death certificate, I really want to make sure that it was not transcribed incorrectly, but it's taking time to get that copy.

As far as the last names, I think that the 1870 census of Alcie and Sallie is the Alcie and Sallie I'm looking for, but that the last name 'Hall' is incorrect. And 'Britt' I have not found a good fit. But Taylor and Adkisson I can verify where Taylor is the last name that maybe could hold the key.

Thanks again,
Johan
