Hello Fellow Researchers,

This is one of my brickwalls. My g grandmother Bessie b. 1830, NC d. bef 1900. Duplin County, NC. She married Essex Mathews b. 1829, NC d. after 1900, same county. They resided in Duplin County, NC. I have their childlren's names and some other descendants. I have been researching and attempting to find out who her parents were and nothing yet.

At the moment this is all the information that I have on her. Could there be other spelling for her surname? or maybe her surname was taken from her slaveowner?
