Assuming I found the right person, the WWI Draft Registration card of Abraham Thomas Bowen states he was still single as of June 5, 1917. He was working as a farmer for a person or entity named S. B. Wells, in Rose Hill, NC.

His wife, Hattie, died in 1926, so they must have met, married, and had their children in that short time period of 1917-1926. I looked for them in the censuses, also, but could only find other AA's with surname BOWEN. I'm sure you already have this information. Good luck!
