Re: Rosa DIXON (1885-1962) Wshngtn Cty, GA

Thank you for your assistance with this wall of mine.

Sadly I learned just today that my cousin, and contact to my Washington County Kin died last month. She was the one who told me about the Walkers being Grandma Rose's relatives, and how some of the Walkers married the Armstrongs. She told me about a young Ralph who she called Uncle who would visit her Grandma Rose. She was the last of Izora's children. Isn't life fleeting?

Well during the conversation today with the undertaker, I got a number to a Walker down there who was happy to take my call. But she knew nothing about the relationships between the Dixons and the Veals. But she is John Henry Walker's niece, and its good to know her.

A really nice librarian in Washington County looked up Rosa's obituary for me, and found it in the newspaper. She is sending it to me, although it does not sound like it has the additional information that I crave, I can't wait to have another "piece to the puzzle."

Meanwhile, I started using my imagination while reading over this thread.

Here it is:

Susan DICKSON married London WARTHERN 24 Oct 1879. After he died Susan DICKSON married Wm. Harley WALKER on 4 Jul 1885. Grandma Rosa, being a product of Susan's first marriage reverted to her mother's family name--as she never knew her father. Susan, Rosa's mother was sister to Harry DICKSON. Their parents were Clay and Sarah DIXON.

Harry DICKSON married Annie WARTHERN on 6 Jan 1895. They are the parents of Ralph DIXON. London WARTHERN, Rosa's biological father was sister to Annie WARTHERN, Ralph's mother and Cindy WARTHERN, Susie VEAL's mother.

Now tomorrow I'll work to disprove my new theory.
