My great grandfather Samuel Lee and wife Julia Lee of Al. are not found under the Lee name in the 1870 census with their children Marshall 4, Stephen 1 (Talladega) but under the name Samuel/Julia Davis. The first names and ages match up but not the name (Davis). In 1880,1900, the same family Sam/Julia and the boys plus an increase in family size are listed as Lees. Can anyone help me figure this name thing out? would this be my family, would the Davis name be Julia's last slave holder's name?

In 1910 I am unable to locate Sam Lee and Julia again, I think maybe Julia has passed on because her two youngest
boys are living with an older brother
Harry Lee in precinct 10, Shelby, Al.
Sam surfaces again in 1920 living with Johnie Lee(leu) in Dewey, Ok.. Definitely a "brickwall" for me. any help would be appreciated. Thank you Pat heaven12122003@yahoo.com
