William Featherston my ggrandfather is found on the 1880 Census of Henderson County NC, Clear Creek Township. His grandmother Lucinda, James (I think maybe their father) and sister Louisa. They are not found on the 1870 Census but turn up next door to Seaborn Featherston (white and he maybe the link) on the 1880 Census but on the 1870 Census there was another family of Featherstones. This family disappears and my family appears in 1880. Where did this family come from? William's mother was born in Virginia, I do not know her name. Are there any school records from Henderson County that can give any information?
