That little bit of info prompted me to take a closer look at the census records for the WEST family I am researching in Jackson and Morehouse parishes in LA. The birth trails do, in fact, lead back to GA. It helped me knock down several bricks on this particular brick wall. Thanks for the hint, Alice, and good luck on your own WEST "trail".
