Re: Paul West
In Response To: Re: Paul West ()
Good Morning Johan, Yes, I have researched Edward Pierce but with no luck. I researched a Edward Pierce for months. I finally located his death certificate and his mother's maiden name was "Brown." But, what I did not do was check the slave schedules for the surname "Pierce", as you did. You may have cracked my brick wall with this information. The name Benjamin West is very familiar to me. Benjamin West, is the second son of Claiborne Dandridge West from Virginia, who lived from 1759 to 1822. I have his will and a copy of the book written about his family. This family had a plantation in Christian County, Kentucky. Benjamin West lived from 1822 to 1885 and married a woman by the name of Elizabeth Cosart from North Carolina. I agree of the three (3) states I would select North Carolina also. I cannot let this go, so I am definitely going to take your advise and check the deed books, inventories and estates records. Thank you so much for your help. I will keep you posted on any progress. Francene
