Here is a maybe:
Houston ward 1, district 61, Harris county, TX, sheet# 7b:
Ed Warren born in TX 1858 (thinking that Ed and Lucy could be a couple just living apart, they are both married).

I had no real luck in my limited research past 1900.

If Ed in 1900 is the Ed you're looking for, then there is really only one good match in the ancestry.com census index in 1880 (based on age):
District 102, precinct 8, Smith county TX, page# 28D:
Phebe Warren born in MS 1842
Edward Warren born in TX 1859

And in 1870:
Starrville Beat, Smith Count, TX, page# 21:
