Caroline McNeil Sinclair - NC
Caroline McNeil Sinclair was my great-great grandmother. I have found her in the following:
1873 Caroline McNeil married Simpson Sinclair
1880 Caroline is found with my gg grandfather Simpson (Simon) Sinclair in the Federal Census. They have the following children: William, Evander, Mandy and John D.
1900 Caroline is found in the 1900 Federal Censu with Simpson. She is 40 and he's 47. They have the following childrem: Thomas L 17, Harrie J 15, Maggie G 13, John Troy 11, and twins Authur S. (my great grandfathet) and Mattie D. 8. Sterling Mills, township
1910 Caroline is found still married age 58, but not living with Simpson. Caroline is 58 and the following children are in the home: Maggie 20, John 18, Mattie 16 and Arthur(Daniel) 16. Simpson is found living alone at age 56 in Sterling Mills also.
1920 Caroline is found as a widow in Lumberton in the 1920 Federal Census. Her age says 80. Ancetry.com has her indexed as Cawline Sinden, but once you see the record is clearly says Sinclair. Living with her is her daughter Hettie (recorded as Bettie) age 32, granddaughter Liller B age 6 months and daughtr Maggie age 25.
1923 Caroline is found in the NC Death Collection 1908- 1996. She die May 29, 1923 at the age of 70, although 1920 census says she's 80.
All the above is information that I already have and I am not seeking help for.
My BRICKWALL is that I have not found Caroline in the 1870 census. I saw a Caroline Mitchel who fits the age, but I'm not sure. It was Alford Mitchel with daughter Caroline Mitchel. I am sending off for Caroline's death certificate on tomorrow. Hopefully that will confirm her parent's name.
Is there anyone researching McNeil from Robeson County, North Carolina? Can anyone find Caroline in 1870? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your time and efforts.
