I can't thank you enough for helping me with one of my Huge Bricks -WILLAIM CHINN. Yes, I did find her in 1870 and a researcher from the Ruth E. Lloyd Information Center (RELIC) in Prince William gave me this take on the Elizabeth- Menefee connection....
He went on to say that," it is significent that Elizabeth was living in the household as a domestic-It appears that he has been widowed since 1859 making him available to have sired Elizabeth's children,especially if she belonged to him during slavery." He checked the slavery schedules and counld not match Elizabeth was any slaves of Menefee's by age. He suggested that I look for Elizabeth on the 1965 and 1866 personal property tax lists for Rappahannock. I have got to request the Tax Lists from the LVA. Thanks for inspiring me to do that today!
