Is it possible that there mayn't be a tombstone or marker for this individual's grave and therefore a record or grave cannot be found in the cemetery noted? That is the case with quite a few of my relatives buried in the earlier years across multiple states. Death certificate says cemetery ABC, but no physical evidence of grave at cemetery. If existing, check funeral home records, church records, grave permits filed (if required for that jurisdiction and timeframe), relatives who may have attended the funeral, etc. In one Tampa FL case, though the family plot visibly contained 3 graves, the cemtery records showed that of the 8 plots purchased, 5 were filled. The missing two agreed with the death certificates I have on hand. The caretaker was even able to tell me where in the plot the graves should have been approximately ( ie - above Mary Smith's grave, etc.) At least you have the death certificate. MS denied my request for relatives' 1930 era certificates. Happy Hunting -
