I have the same problem with my paternal gm Bertha Mae (Dobbins) Walker. Her death cert from MS shows that she was buried in the hospital cemetery where she died in 1928 in Hinds County. However, the research volunteers looked through the cemetery records and, what a surprise, she is not on the list. It's safe to assume that MS simply took less care to document our lives. I've faced the fact that I may never uncover the info I want about my ancestors in MS or AR, for that matter.

But go with your instincts. The DC's of the children might yield some information. Go for it and good luck!
