Re: PERCIVAL Update?
In Response To: Re: PERCIVAL Update? ()

T Huston - I am also researching the Alabama PERCIVAL lines as I have distant DNA matches on Ancestry who descend from James through the Parks family. I also have not YET found which branch of the slaveowning Percivals in Richland County might have sent James to Alabama. There are trees on Ancestry with hints. Happy to correspond and would love to hear if you have broken the brick wall.

My ggf Wilson Percival was born c. 1842 in Columbia, Richland, SC, likely enslaved to Percival family there. He left after CW and spent rest of his life in NYC and then Babylon NY. He worked as hotel dining room Maitre D/Captain in resorts there in summer and would travel south to resorts all over East Coast for winter season.

Your name is familiar - perhaps from AfriGeneas or DC conference in 2016 for Black Genealogy? That's where my cousin and I met Selma Stewart... (Hi Selma!)

Susan
