Research has been stalled somewhat. Not able to get answers/info from expected sources, either to help someone else on one of their branches/surnames/ancestors, or on one of my own.

I was initially hopeful that by reaching out to other people on FB with the surname (or married name) of DOBBINS, a potential new family connection could be made. My paternal grandmother, Bertha Mae (Dobbins) Walker has been found in the 1900, 1910, and 1920 Mississippi census records w/o her parents, but with other relatives. She died in 1928, but her dc does not name her parents. Apparently, the person giving the information did not know about her parents...OR...the hospital she died in was anxious to just get her off the ward and buried. Lots of "UNK" all over her dc. This is what I have on her:

Born: between 1892 and 1894 in MS
1900: niece to HOH Adolphus Davis in Noxubee Co., MS
1910: gr-dtr to HOH Lucretia (Sistrunk) Dobbins in Attala Co., MS
1920: gr-dtr to HOH Lucretia (Sistrunk) Dobbins in Noxubee Co., MS
1921: marriage to George W Walker in Parkin, Cross Co., AR
1924: gave birth to my dad, Claude Walker, in Parkin, Cross Co., AR
1928: died in State Mental Hospital in Jackson, Hinds Co., MS, but dc lists Hushpuckena, Bolivar Co., MS, as last place of residence. This residence is confirmed by an older cousin who remembered visiting Grandpa George and his new, young wife (Grandma Bertha) at their home in Hushpuckena, when she and her brother were young kids.

A new development has come in the way of Adolphus Davis. Both his 1930 and 1940 census records have suddenly "popped up" on, showing that he did NOT die prior to 1930, as I previously thought. He was simply transcribed incorrectly by Ancestry as "Dolores" Davis and his wife, Martha, transcribed incorrectly as "Saddie". The additional HICKMAN grandchildren in their household in 1930, also appear with them in 1940. They might be the children of their daughter, Carrie Davis, born 1900 and an unknown Hickman father. Their names are Orabelle b.1920; Adell (male) b.1922; Carrie b.1924; and Ozell (male) b.1925. There is also a Walter Irvin b.1928, listed as grandson in 1930, but listed as Walter Barker, half-brother, in 1940. I assume, half-brother to the Hickman grandchildren.

Well, if any of these names sound familiar to anyone, please do not hesitate to either contact me or join this conversation. Do descendants of Adolphus and Martha Davis recall anything about DOBBINS relatives? Do any HICKMAN or IRVIN/BARKER descendants recall the same? Thanking you in advance.
