I've looked at the NY/NJ connection several times but because I don't have the names of James' parents, I keep hitting a brick wall.

I will take a closer look at the Missouri connection because in one of the census reports, it list that James was born in Missouri. In trying to follow the migration to AL, I can't rationalize how he was born in Missouri.

I will definitely pursue all your leads! Thanks again.
