I just want to add this...
Familysearch.org has had many different ways to search their archives over the years. I started when it was first announced the site was opening free to the public. Ordering films can be expensive. Before you spend money, go to the site, scroll down to Browse Location. Scroll down to USA and look at the state you are researching, click on USA and see if any records are posted(with the camera icon). Look at those records available for all of your surnames in that state. AFTER you exhaust them, then order the films. Make sure you write down the FHL number and put them in your notes. You just never know when you might get to go to Salt Lake City Library to do research. Or for that matter the National Archives in DC. Ancestors open doors.
