More than likely Edward Davis is the grandson on Lawrence's line. I think that because the census refers to the head of household as the determining factor And coupled with the fact that I found a Lawrence Taylor Jr on the 1886 and 89 tax rolls just under Lawrence Sr. My thought is Jr may be Edwards father since this is the 2nd marriage for Lawrence Sr.

I have not found an Edward Davis that fits after 1900 nor a possible for Mariah with the Davis name.

No DC for Edward Davis that I have seen so far.

I am putting Mariah'with a birthdate between 1840-50.
All indications have her son Joseph older than his wife Frances so I am using his birth arounds 1865-1867. I am using those yrs because I found Frances in the 1870 census age 4 and the 1880 census at age 13 with her parents Charles and Elizabeth Ware Dickerson/Dixon/Dixson

I found a marriage record of a Lawrence Taylor and Mariah Wells that I really want to claim. This was done in 1882 but can not verify the Wells name in 1870 or 1880.

There is also a Lawrence Taylor married to a Manda Jane Boyd in 1895 but I am kind of thinking it would be Jr's marriage. I do not have this document in my possession.
