Re: Mariah & JP Taylor - Harrison Cty Tx

Hello Vicky, I did as you asked and looked at your previous posting and the 1900/1910 Census records. A few questions came to mind that I'm sure you've covered and can answer that will help us in your search for Mariah. 1900 - Who is the grandparent of Edward Davis? Could Edward Davis be a GS of Mariah's? Possibly a son of Joe P. Taylor, Mariah's son & Lawrence Taylor's step/adopted son. I ask because of the birth locations of Joe P. & Edward, are all in Texas. You state that Joe P. was given/took the Taylor surname, perhaps his biological father was surnamed Davis. A strectch, but ....... The 1900 Census has Mariah & Lawrence having married 21 years prior, which would be 1879. Joe P. was listed as being born ca 1865, so he was 14 y/o when Mariah & Lawrence were married. Right? Joe P.'s father is listed as being born in Texas as was his mother (Mariah) so, Lawrence is not the father of Joe P., Right? And Joe P. could of had a son before his marriage to Frances... another stretch, but ....... There could be leads to Mariah through the children of Joe P. & Frances, her grandchildren, but not Lawrence's. With Mariah listed as being born in Texas, her parents in MO & AL, a search of 1870/1880 Census records for a daughter with parents born in MO & AL might be something to look at. I know, cumbersome & tedious, but we're looking for Mariah. Right? Hopefully these questions will open other lines of thought and not confuse the issue. We're gonna find Mariah. Right? Art Thomas
