When it comes to Alfred I have not found anything about him either. Maybe even worse here, pretty much any Alfred in the 1870 and 1880 censuses born around the same time could be the right Alfred.

He is not listed with Charles Henderson Hood in 1850 or 1860. I also looked if any Alfred Atkins or Alfred Hood served in the Civil War but not so.

A possibility is that Charles Henderson Hood sold Alfred in another county, I need to check that at some point.

I can only speculate about who he was, in 1840 there are two women in the age of 24 to 36, one (maybe both?) is missing in the slave division. Rather than Isham I would lean towards that one of the older men Casey and Benjamin had a family and that Alfred was part of that union.

But that's just speculation, I really have no idea.
