Re: Need help from experienced researchers 2

1. Division of slaves in the estate of William Atkins, Dyer County TN, 4th of February 1845
To Harriett Atkins (wife of William): Man Isham aged about 36 years, woman Eliza aged about 27 years, boy Alfred aged about 17 years and two children Elijah aged about 3 years and Francis aged about 2 years, all valued at $1650.

I have enjoyed reading this discussion and analysis. I realize that Elijah is your main focus but, I do have a question about the boy Alfred age 17, who appears along with the family in 1845. What if anything do you know about him? Is he Isham's son from a previous relationship? Does he appear in any other record near this family after emancipation?

Just asking.

Selma
