Hello Book Club,
I'm with you 100% as regards Mr. Sowell's critique. Mr. Haley's "Roots" was about a family history, not a history of slavery. Mr. Sowell has a problem with the scene in which Kunte Kinta is captured, then uses the "unlikelyhood" of that scenario to diminish "Roots" in total. Is this what's called "non-sequitar" (sp) ?
That's what I got from his critique.
