Dear Bill and George (Book Club):

Thanks so much for your information about Zora on film and also the list of films at Chapel Hill. I realized that I had seen a film on Zora...but just snippets.

Also listed was Zou Zou starring Josephine Baker. I saw the film at Lincoln Center and I soon realized why Baker was so "exotic" to the French and Europe. They raved at her "catlike" walk and movements. To my eye...she was just using the natural gait of a poor young woman from East Saint Louis who became the toast of Paris.

I wonder what Zora thought of Josephine...
