Books and Family History - from Ancestry.com

"Joie de Vivre" is a French expression that literally means Joy of
Living, but in common use it has a deeper meaning. If someone is said
to have Joie de Vivre it means that they live life with gusto, making
the most of every moment. This Product Watch focuses on sharing the
joy of living.

Much of genealogy involves researching the basic facts of those that
have lived before, but what about those that are living now? It is
very important that we do all we can to record and preserve the
important facts and joyous moments of our own lives and those around
us. That's why I'm featuring products that will make capturing the
joy in living easier than you ever imagined possible.

Just below the excellent Spotlight Item I present a group of products
that can walk you through the creation of a written history. Then the
following group teaches you about using and preserving photos. With
those skills in hand you'll be ready to start capturing memories, and
to help with that I've created a group dedicated to reuniting and
communicating with family members. Finally, the Storybook products
show you how you can take all the great information you've collected,
and create a professionally published book that you can pass on to
future generations.

It has never been this simple and straight forward to leave a lasting
legacy--telling your own story in your own words. Even if you don't
think your life was extraordinary, future generations can draw great
strength from learning about how you overcame the challenges of your
everyday life. But don't take my word for it, ask your own family and
I'm confident they'll tell you what a treasure your story would be to
them now and for years to come.

Wishing joy to you and future generations,
-Sylvia

Digital
Imaging for Genealogy (Video)
Using the digital images to preserve and document family history has
become a vital and oft-times essential part of the genealogical
community. Richard S. Wilson, your personal tutor, will teach you how
to use digital cameras, scanners and software to preserve and
document your precious family history. Using examples, he shows you
the "how tos" of scanning and photographic hardware, then how to use
your software to restore and preserve them. After youve created
digital images of your photos and documents, Richard demonstrates how
to share them with your friends and family.
