Hi, I just had to write and say a special 'thanks' to this forum. I had forgotten how interesting reading was. This forum has introduced me to books I would have never had know about. In the last two months, I finished 'Cane River,' 'The Seed of Sally Goodn,' and am currently re-reading 'Roots,' and am going through (skipping around) Negro Slavery in Arkansas by Orville W. Taylor. I have a couple of more under my belt since I discovered this forum.
I have to let you know that at first my husband was 'upset' regarding my interest and time in 'genealogy.' Now, it's reading that has gotten under his skin, until...I started 'reading to him at night.' Oh, don't get me wrong, he can read, but he wouldn't do it unless I did it for him. Now it's 'OK, you didn't forget what page 'WE' are on did you?' It's fun, now, I can't wait until I receive 'Every Tongue Got to Confess,' We (my daughter and I) can both read to my husband.
Again, many thanks for being here, and re-opening a world I had almost forgotten..'READING!'
Dena.
