Re: Any people with Madagascar or Guinea ancestry?
In Response To: Re: Any people with Madagascar or Guinea ancestry? ()
I am always grateful to hear of others from diverse and exotic backgrounds I have met people whose ancestry is other than strictly West African. I know the story of the Habetshet joining Abyssinian Baptist Church in New York, 1808. I have met others from Madagascar and Mauritius who are virtually unknown in the Diaspora. We know of the "Brass Ankles", "Melungeons" and "Majorcans" from studying the various ethnicities who contributed to the gene pool. We know of North Africans buried at the African Burial Ground in New York, so we are grateful for your sharing this information.
