Re: Any people with Madagascar or Guinea ancestry?

During a Davis family reunion on my gradmother's side a cousin attended our family reunion who was in his 90's and he told the story of my ggggrandfather who was from a Royal family of Madagascar Africa that was taken as a slave out of Madagascar Africa on a slaveship..I was also told that my ggggrandfather lived close by the water in Madagascar Africa and they were very tall people with very long arms....I was also told that my ggggrandfather was a slave of Jefferson Davis who was The "President of the Confederacy" and my ggggrandfather was a slave on his plantation....Thank goodness I have read where Jefferson Davis was good to his slaves more then most other slavemasters and that they ate well and lived in unusally large slave quarters..and left an African man as overseer of his slaves..

As we all know many slave names were changed from their original names to their slavemasters name and that's how my ggggrandather got his name C. DAVIS.....My ggggrandfather I was told lived in other parts of the south as well as Texas and Alabama.... This story was tape recorded during this family reunion in which a cousin of mine as posession of this tape... Sadly to say I was not able to attend this family reunion so I am getting this story from my cousin in bits and pieces who has the posession of this tape as of today...

My grandmother D. Davis has now passed away but when she was living you see the traits of her Madagascar ancestry because she had those asian eyes...so I believe she was of African.asian...

Lastly I would like to say... even if you don't know your roots of what part of Africa your ancestors come from sometimes in the daily routine of your life you will do things that you may not understand why... and I realize now that it comes from the spirits of your ancestors that lays deep within your blood your DNA....For example...at one time I had my whole livingroom done in an Asian style fashion and now I understand why.. So never stop listening to the older generation because they tell the greatest stories of our roots from Africa...May God Bless them ALL....Angel
