If you're still out there and working on it, my Hickman ancestors came from Madagascar, and were of East Indian descent, according to family lore - three Hickman brothers came to America from Madagascar in the early 1800s, possibly in 1820, they were in Virginia, my line moved to Kentucky.

As for DNA, unfortunately, we don't have any Hickman direct male descendents in our line that we can find (but I'm still searching...). My maternal 3rd great grandmother was of the Hickman bunch.
