Oral history has my paternal ggggrandfather Hubbard Davis/Daviss coming from Madagascar and his wife Elizabeth from Guinea. From what I understand they were in North Carolina where their sons James/Jacob and Harry were born. I have not been able to find out where in NC. The sons have been found in Texas but have been unable to find Hubbard or Elizabeth.
