George, Thank you for your interest. My GGGGrandfather was Richard B. Hall, manumitted 1819 at the age of 42, lived in the area of Catoctin Furnace. He had a burn on his right wrist (from work at the furnace?). It is believed that his father was one of the slaves brought in from Africa to work at the furnace. His father's name unknown. Janice
