Where to Write for Non-Identifying Info
Many states have made it possible for an adoptee to write to receive their non identifying information. Non Identifying Information allows the birth and adoptive families to learn pertinent facts about each other without revealing who they are or how they can be contacted. Sometimes there is not much information, but a lot of times it's the small clues that lead to the bigger one. For example, stating their age at the time of birth would help you in an indirect way. NC has a birth index, and if a child was born in NC and the non identifying info says that the mom was age 18, you could go to the NC birth index and look at babies born in that year for that county. This would at least narrow your search down.
