Welcome to the Adoptions Forum. I am no expert or professional but do know that there are laws for obtaining birth information. They vary from state to state. What state are you referring to? Since your birth certificate has your birthparents names on it, it would be a matter of searching. Common names are harder to find, plus women get married and their last names change. There are many online people searches; such as veromi.com, whitepages.com, and various others. Many folks have placed personal ads in newspapers. So, it's all according to how extensively you would like to search.
