Heartland Family Finds Rare Infertility Solution
Millions of families struggle with infertility, experiencing heartbreak at the thought of not being able to have a child.
KTVO found out that there's a rare new solution for those families. It's worked for one Heartland couple. With 10 fingers, 10 toes and a little mouth that toys inevitably find their way into, 7-month-old Ethan Tatro is like most infants.
"Ethan is a very active baby. He's very strong, he likes to kick and bounce and squeal," says Ethan's mom, Tanya Tatro.
But Ethan is unique. His parents, Chad and Tanya, adopted him. However they didn't adopt him as a newborn as most adoptive parents do. The adopted him as an embryo.
"There are some [embryos] that are just waiting because [biological] parents don't know what to do with them, so this provides an option," Tanya Tatro says. For the Tatro's the embryo was "just waiting" with Nightlight Christian Adoptions' Snowflakes Program.
